Copies of our most recent VPAT assessments are available through our compliance portal. To access the GiveSmart portal contact your Customer Success Manager through your support channels.

What is VPAT score?

VPAT, or Voluntary Product Accessibility Template, is a document prepared by a product developer or vendor. It describes how well the product conforms to the accessibility standards of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

How is GiveSmart planning to improve VPAT?

As next steps, the GiveSmart product development team is performing a full analysis of all tools, features and modules to identify areas of improvement. Through this process, the improvements identified will be incorporated into our product roadmap and a revised VPAT will be completed as well. In the interim, if you would like us to prioritize the implementation of an accessibility item, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager through your support channels.

What is WCAG?

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines: technical standards on web accessibility developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Recent WCAG related updates:

On April 8, 2024, the U.S. Attorney General signed a final rule with specific requirements based on WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards to ensure web content and mobile apps are accessible for people with disabilities. The rule will require public K-12 and higher education institutions to conduct a thorough inventory of their digital materials to ensure compliance.

The Department of Justice (DOJ), the regulatory and enforcement agency of Title II and Title III of the ADA has mandated WCAG conformance in settlements resulting from private enforcement actions against entities the DOJ has deemed non-compliant.
