Fundraising events such as galas and auctions rely heavily on reliable internet connectivity. By collecting and submitting your venue’s IP address ahead of time, we can ensure the connection is recognized and secure. This proactive step prevents disruptions with check-in, mobile bidding, donations, and other online fundraising tools used during your event.
Submitting the IP address allows us to add the venue to our allow list, reducing the chance of firewalls, security restrictions, or blocked traffic interfering with your fundraising success.
What is an IP Address?
An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a unique series of numbers assigned to a device or network connected to the internet. Think of it as the “street address” for your venue’s internet connection.
Venues typically have one or more IP addresses that their network uses. Providing this to us ensures our systems recognize the venue’s internet connection and allow it to operate seamlessly during your event.
The part of the IP address that GiveSmart needs is the IPv4 or Internet Protocol version 4.
